Hector Galán
Hector Galán is an award winning independent documentary filmmaker from San Angelo in West Texas with over thirty films to his credit. He founded his Austin-based production company in 1984 and has been working as an indie director/producer ever since. His work has been broadcast nationally and internationally. His films include documentaries for PBS signature series FRONTLINE and THE AMERICAN EXPERIENCE. Galán produced the landmark four-hour PBS series special Chicano! History of the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement and more recently the six part "Visiones: Latino Art & Culture". Galán has won awards and accolades for exploring such diverse topics as migrant farm workers, "New Harvest, Old Shame" the dynamics of race relations in the military, "The Color of Your Skin" college athletics, "Chasing the Basketball Dream", prison riots "Shakedown in Santa Fe", politics "In the Shadow of the Capitol" and issues surrounding illegal drugs "The Dallas Drug War". Galán continues to create stories that explore his Tejano roots such as "Vaquero: The Forgotten Cowboy", the acclaimed music documentaries "Songs of the Homeland" and "Accordion Dreams", and his latest film, "Los Lonely Boys Cottonfields and Crossroads". PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Gustavo Aguilar:
A native of the border city of Brownsville, Texas, Gustavo Aguilar is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Radio/Television/Film and a B.A. in Ethnic Studies. Aguilar has worked with director/producer Hector Galán of Galán Inc for five years. His credits with Hector Galán and Galán Inc. include co-editor of the critically acclaimed music documentary "Accordion Dreams", production manager and additional camera for the award-winning six episode PBS Series Visiones: Latino Art and Culture, and director of photography for the documentary Cinco de Mayo for the History Channel. Other credits include additional camera for History Channel's "Tactical to Practical," and the independent documentary "Waiting to Inhale," for Jed Riffe Films of San Francisco. Aguilar who is bilingual (English/Spanish) is an Austin-based freelance cinematographer and videographer.

Jose Flores:
Austin Texas native Jose Flores is a graduate of the Radio, Television and Film department at the University of Texas at Austin, where he focused his studies on film theory/writing, production, and editing. He is now part of a media collective in Austin called Super!Alright!, where he does free lance camera, sound, editing, and graphics on various projects spanning from music video, television to documentary. Always wanting to move into the field of documentary, he started directing, shooting and editing "Pods" for CurrentTV. "Los Lonely Boys Cottonfields and Crossroads" is his first opportunity to edit a feature length documentary.

Evelyn Ledesma Galán:
A native of the border city of Harlingen in South Texas, Evelyn Ledesma Galán is VP of Galán Inc., an award-winning Austin based TV/Film Production Company, the production company behind Hector Galán films, specializing in long form documentary film production. Her focus for the company has been on distribution and research and project development for such films as "The Forgotten Americans", "Accordion Dreams", "Cinco De Mayo", and most recently as unit manager of the PBS six episode series "Visiones: Latino Art & Culture." She also founded and directed for ten years the CineSol Latino Film Festival of South Padre Island and the Rio Grande Valley Border Region of Texas. Ledesma Galán has also served on the media arts panel for Texas Commission on the Arts and is a board member of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP)

Joseph Julian Gonzalez:
Born in Bakersfield, California in 1963, Joseph Julian Gonzalez is now a veteran film, television and concert music composer with a multitude of credits that include the features "Curdled", "Price Of Glory", the television series "Resurrection Blvd". and the Britney Spears' music video "Oops, I Did It Again". The 2005 feature documentary he scored, "Cowboy Del Amor", won top honors at the SXSW and Santa Fe film festivals and has received nominations by the International Documentary Association and the Writer's Guild of America. He composed the scores for Hector Galán's multiple award-winning documentaries "Chicano: The History of the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement", and "Visiones: Latino Art & Culture". His symphonic/choral concert piece. Misa Azteca, has been performed at Carnegie Hall, the American Cathedral in Paris, and in 2004 opened Mexico's prestigious Festival Cervantino Internacional by President Vicente Fox. The "Gloria" from Misa Azteca will be performed to inaugurate the Premiering Sydney Choral and Orchestra Festival at the Sydney Opera House July 9, 2006.

David Murray:
David Murray is a guitarist, producer and songwriter who has deep roots in the Austin music community. Murray began his career in the 1970s at the legendary Antone's night club. There he learned from and performed with blues greats such as B.B. King, Buddy Guy, James Cotton, Albert Collins and Stevie Ray Vaughan. David played lead guitar, recorded and toured with some of Austin's most respected artists including Angela Strehli, Lou Ann Barton, Kelly Willis, Doyle Bramhall Sr., Marcia Ball, Malford Milligan, Roscoe Beck, Monte Warden and Chaparral. In 1996 David also began producing and composing music for film, video and advertising. His work is featured in MTV's "Beavis and Butthead", Turk Pipkin's recently released, "Nobelity", Academy Award winning filmmaker Laura Dunn's "Become The Sky" and independent film "The High Line" starring Rachel Lee Cook. David has produced albums ranging from classical to country, rock and R&B at his downtown Austin studio, Murray Music. Murray is married to Austin environmentalist Robin Rather and has a young son Daniel Andrew.
